I have always prided myself on being a multi-disciplinary designer; print whilst being less and less common nowadays due to an ever growing digital world, and printing costs increasing. I still know how to artwork and design for print alongside my digital background.

Presentations, well they’re always going to be part of the bread and butter of a designers repertoire; whether outputting sales pitch documents, creating interactive PDFs (iPDFS) and adding small parts of functionality to navigate through larger documents or designing up templates for other members of the business to use. I’m used to creating presentations in a variety of formats.

The Challenge

One of these was a sales tool full of charts and information that could be sent to prospective clients whilst the other was content supplied by the client (Bohemier Ingelheim). The presentation deck meant I worked closely with the Creative Strategist coming up with a look and feel. And the iPDF for BI involved breaking down a huge amount of information into smaller chapters, using navigational elements and a consistent visual style.

My Thinking

For both of these documents I wanted them to be easy to navigate with quick digestible chunks, not all content will have been relevant to every user so being able to skip sections was important and having section identifiers. Having the ‘takeaway box’ allowed Marketing Managers who often short of time to gain the information they needed quickly.

The Solution

Both documents had a clean cohesive style throughout with all elements being on brand. Having content in smaller sections with labelled dividers allowed easier navigation and content to be skimmed if it wasn’t all relevant.

The Outcome

Sectioned iPDFs which were reduced in file size for emailing. Bringing some complex content to life and easy navigation through the documents.
